This pullover is named after my youngest daughter, Viveka. The yarn is called Suss Love. And so I guess you could say Suss love Viveka…not great English but oh so true. She is love and so is this yarn.

It is like a second skin. It feels like cashmere but it is a tactel yarn. It’s also a vegan yarn. I can’t wait to develop more patterns for this yarn.

The colors are jewel tones, deep and rich. This particular design is one of my favorites as a knitwear designer. It has a deep V and flared sleeves that give this pullover a classic Victorian feel.

Wear a camisole under it or even a ruffled long sleeve blouse and then… Go have a night with your knight!

Instructions for the basic crochet stitches used for the neckline border (slip stitch and single crochet) can be found here and here.

Sc-dec (Single crochet decrease)
Insert hook in next st, pull up a loop, insert hook in following st, pull up a loop, yarn over, draw through both loops on hook. 1 st decreased.

If you are new to crochet, it is a good idea to practice working along the edge of a swatch, before you begin working the neckline border.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Suss' journey in fashion and art began in her native Scandinavia where knitwear is a staple for 10 months out of the year and a necessary skill to keep oneself and one’s family well layered. At the young age of 19, Suss launched her first men’s wear boutique, Thanks, in Stockholm. Customers at her boutique would see her knitting something so intricate and vibrant that they would place custom-made orders on the spot for her creations. Her individual hand-loomed sweaters, hats and scarves retained the feel and the quality of the traditional hand knit sweaters she grew up with.

A leader in the knitting renaissance, Suss Cousins's highly sought-after knitwear has appeared in numerous TV and film productions. Her line of clothing, designer patterns and gorgeous yarns are distributed nationwide, including at her shop, Suss Design, in Los Angeles, opened in 1995.
