When my friend requested that I knit him a brown, gold and cream argyle sweater vest for his birthday I couldn’t resist! I love argyle, so I decided to make him a classic vest with a twist.

The vertical argyle band requires both intarsia and fair-isle skills, so it is not for the knitter who is faint of heart.

But the results are hot and your man will love it!

Recommended needle size:
spacer 1 set of US #7/4.5mm double-point needles or 16-inch circular needle

Note: Even though the back and front are worked separately, back and forth, a US #7/4.5mm circular needle is recommended for the lower ribbing because it is more convenient for working the stripes in the lower ribbing (one stripe has an odd number of rows). If you prefer to use straight needles, you may wish to change the stripe sequence for the lower ribbing.
