INTRODUCTION

Concello

beauty shot

Tangy

This cardigan is named for Antoinette Concello, a trapeze artist who was known as "the greatest woman flyer of all time." I have always had a deep love of the circus, and last year finally got to live my dream of flying on the trapeze at the wonderful Trapeze School New York. It was thrilling and I highly recommend trying it! Unless, maybe, you have a fear of heights.

The Concello cardigan is a sweet little sweater to throw on during transitional seasons and cool late summer evenings. Worked from the top down, it features three-quarter length sleeves that are picked up around the armhole, with sleeve caps shaped using short rows. The sleeves and hem are edged with an easy picot crocheted border.

PATTERN NOTES

[Knitty's list of standard abbreviations and techniques can be found here.]

Cardigan is worked from the top down. You will begin by working the back neck extensions and fronts down to the underarms, then sts are picked up for the back and worked down to the underarm. Back and fronts are then joined and worked in one piece down to the hem. Sleeves are picked up around the armhole and sleeve caps are worked with short rows.
