INTRODUCTION

Fairyland

beauty shot

Tangy

I designed these mitts inspired by a scarf pattern that I liked. Where I live, there is almost no reason to own a winter scarf so I wanted to incorporate the details that I liked and turn them into something I could use.

These little mitts are cute, quick to knit and just challenging enough to be interesting. They don’t take much yarn so they are not a large commitment. They are a perfect gift.

PATTERN NOTES

[Knitty's list of standard abbreviations and techniques can be found here.]

The cuff is knit first in a strip and grafted together. Then the hand is picked up from the edge of the cuff and knit towards the fingers.

Provisional Cast on:
This project uses a provisional cast on. Use your preferred technique; I used a crochet chain then picked up stitches in the bumps on the back side of the chain as shown here.

Sl: Unless otherwise stated, stitches should be slipped purlwise with yarn in front.

Grafting:
Instructions for grafting can be found here.
