Simply Sock Yarn

My whole life is upside down these days. I'm obsessed with knitting from the top down, be it socks, sweaters or shawls. As such, my books of stitch patterns are constantly turned on their heads as I seek inspiration.

This lace pattern was found in the Japanese reference "kuchiyu ru nitsuto moyouami nihiyakugojiyuu" by Shida Hitomi. Turned upside down it reminded me of wine goblets.

The pattern features twisted stitches that form the goblet stems and add stability to the lace pattern. The sock is meant to fit looser than a standard sock, allowing the lace pattern to show slightly relaxed.
