Rabbit update, day 2

[2nd day past the point of no return, so to speak]

Spay is booked for Jan 3.

Last night, Squeeze was miserable. Honking [that's the bunny mating call] and trying to mount any part of Boeing that wasn't moving. I went over to Squeeze, who was cowering in the back of the cage, honking, and tried to calm her. It's not working well.

This morning, the balance of power shifted. Now Boeing is chasing Squeeze all around the house and Squeeze won't stay still for 2 seconds. It's all pretty pitiful.

Exactly three weeks today, snip. It can't come soon enough for all four of us.

Comments:
Oh, my heart goes out. I've never had to deal with adolescence in multiple pets at once. Oh, so sorry.

Poor little bunnies. Who knew rabbits were such horny little animals? And I thought cats were bad!

So this is how the term to f-ck like bunnies came about right?

Would any of those pheromone plug ins work that you get at pet stores? One worked for my house load of kitties before. Why in the world does one have to wait to long to neuter a bunny?

Puberty is so tough on the little guys. I have three myself - two boys and a girl. I still haven't gotten the girl spayed because she hates being picked up. I worry that she will get too stressed from the whole thing. The boys handled things pretty easily. Don't worry though, girls won't hurt each other. It's the boys who might fight. I had to separate all three buns from each other until the boys were neutered. Now I have two bonded together and one male bun by himself, but I am trying to get them all together. Try and relax - you can always separate them until they have the surgery.
