Clapotis...design of the year!

I should have blogged this last week! Did you read that Knitter's Review picked our very own Clapotis as Design of the Year for 2005? An excellent choice, I think -- I can't remember seeing so many versions of one pattern ever before.

Congrats to designer and new mama Kate Gilbert!

Comments:
I'm pretty sure they may have even had a class at my LYS. Oh wait...maybe it was for Charlotte's Web? I dunno. All I do know is I'm way too ADD for those shawl patterns!

Did you see who is going to be working part time in a LYS?

I think I will cast one on in celebration.

Should use my Chasing Rainbows yarn for something special like that.

Congrats Kate and Amy, you can sure pick'em!

I'm on my third one. And I don't like making one pattern more than once....that's saying something!

No shocker there -- Clapotis is magic! I can barely force myself to make a second sock, I feel so bored after I've made the first, but I've made three different Clapotis and shown plenty of other knitters how to get theirs started.

One of the things I truly appreciate about Clapotis is not necessarily all the variations, but how magnificent the pattern is just the way it was written! I find it rhythmic and poetic and simpy marvelous.

That was amazing. I really liked it.

Olivia, I am just about to start the clapotis. I was out of town when some of people at my local yarn shop started the project. They were able to download a chart for the pattern and said that it was some kind of link at Knitty. com. However, I didn't see it there. Have you seen this chart? If so, where can I find it?
