life, she is funny.

When you find yourself going to bed before 8pm, and you're not a morning-tv host, clearly the stress is getting to you. Me.

Except it's almost all good stress. Being on the verge of too many good things and wanting it all to happen, except it can't happen right now, and you don't have enough time or energy to make it happen under current circumstances, but you don't want to lose the chances cause they won't come back again. That kind of thing.

Just writing that last paragraph made my stomach hurt. My stomach hurts a lot lately.

---

My hub has great clarity lately. This morning, he told me to look way down the road, not at my feet. Keep your eye on the prize.

My stomach still hurts.

---

In other news, I'm completely obsessed with Lyra and Pantalaimon and Mr. P. Pullman, whose voice is like warm honey. I've been too busy/distracted/frazzled to change the sidebar, but I'm into book two of the trilogy and am completely captivated.

I saw a very cute guy reading book one in the Starbucks last week. From England, he was -- said he started reading them because he'd seen the stage play adaptations of the book. I'd be interested to see them too, but first I really want to savor all three books, unabridged.

---

The silk lace swatching has progressed into a test knit, and I have to tell you...I'm quite excited.

---

Work continues on the No Sheep shortlist. This book is shaping up, people. Rock.

Next weekend, TNNA. San Diego, in the middle of January. With J. OH, the shmoozing that will ensue! I can't believe it, really. This won't be anything like the indulgent decadence that was Rhinebeck, but it will be great fun just the same. Time to polish off the business cards!

On the bunny front, knocking wood, all is well. Stitches are to be removed this Friday morning. Already we've seen increased signs of affection [and less squabbling] between them -- through the bars -- thanks to the removal of the hormone-producing bits.

I wonder what kind of world it would be altogether without estrogen and testosterone? Maybe we'd all get along.

Where the hell are the tiny violins when I need them? [my stomach hurts.]

Comments:
I think the whole stomach hurting thing is going around.

And I think your Hub is very very wise.

B r e a t h e.

TNNA, keep your thoughts on TNNA! I'd give just about anything to go. ;) Stomach aches are good when all is positive, the end goal will be terrific and will wow so many people, including ME! :)

Love those books! The ending left me wanting more, though. Relax and have a nice aromatherapy bath with candles and soft music. Hmmm, maybe I should take my advice, too! And chocolate. There, now I think I *will* take my own advice. Be well! ;)

Tums. Tums are my friend, and I know exactly how you feel. And take the man's advice. Even though it's hard, and more Tums will be necessary. In fact, take a few hours' break. Go to unfamiliar territory, laugh hard, and the perspective should help with the tummy ache (and Tums). And baby step. Somewhere between your feet and way down the road are the tiny steps you'll take, each one of which will be like a giant gulp of Tums. Yup. It's all about the Tums. (And a tiki bar? It may all be about a tiki bar, too...)

Feel better. Canada Dry Gingerale, saltines, and loose clothes might help.

Those were some of the best audiobooks I ever listened to. I am planning to get them from the library again soon! And he has a related short story up on audible.com, although I haven't purchased it yet. Much food for thought.
Hope your stomach stops hurting SOON. And enjoy TNNA, it sounds like it has the potential to be fabulous!

nicole, i'm drinking a CDG right now. how did you know? and the lack of loose clothes thing is just another reason i'm stressed. then again, does it give me extra street cred if i personify our book title a little more now than, say, two months ago?

kim, tiki all the way! cannot wait!

katy, tnna is always a blast, if an exhausting one. i'm looking forward to it without reservation. :-)

hugs to you all.

tums, sadly, will do nothing. i've got a diagnosed stomach problem that is usually helped by Rx stuff. but the last month or so, it's not helping much at all. inherited this one from my mama. thanks, ma.

believe it or not, besides the gingerale, the thing that's helping the most is knitting the silk test thingy. i can't wait till i can show it to you. but if it works out well, it won't be for a little while yet.

sorry. J and i are the queen of the tease.
snork.

p.s. as of a half hour ago, i have a pair of reversible spanx control-top tights in my possession. things are looking up.

Just breathe and knit. It will all come together in its time. Really!

Those are some of my favorite books, although for me, the last book was a bit of a disappointment. I'd love to hear your opinion.

Enjoy San Diego - I've been away three years and truly miss the place. Some great restaurants in the Gaslamp Quarter!

Hope the stomach settles soon!

i hear you! for me it's early waking.

my prescription: you, the pacific ocean, and a quiet stretch of sand in between. very good for perspective gaining.

that, and drinks served in containers made of actual fruit.

The Pullman books made me cry, knit, read them again, and cry. Congrats to you for discovering them. Have fun at TNNA and eat some chocolate for the tum.
