It's book day!

Big day around here! Like Kay, I've bought a pink Gap cord jacket to celebrate and am flying across the Atlantic the day our book is finally in stores. Kinda weird, eh?

[Totally not kidding about the pink cord jacket. Go look at Kay's pics on her blog...that's the one. I saw it on her at TNNA and instantly had to have it.]

To celebrate this momentous day, two new things for you to look at. First, the brand new Big Girl Knits [blog], co-written by my co-author and best friend, Jillian, and me. She'll have to do most of the writing for the next 10 days, though. Sorry, J.

And the Big Girl Knits site is live, too! Go check it out. It's full of little nooks and crannies.

It's hard to be a Big Girl in this anorexic world. Celebrate what you've got -- go snag a "love your B3" button or proclaim your boob, belly or butt-ness, if you're so bold.

And a little request: have you read the book? Did you like our approach to design? Then please post a review on Amazon. We've only heard great stuff from the Big Girls that have read advance copies of the book, but isn't it just the way that our first review came from someone who'd rather wear a big rectangle and hide under it? [Lucky for her, every other plus-size knitting book has her covered.] So if you think waist shaping and showing off your assets are a good thing, we'd love it if you'd say so.

Me? I'm going to make sure I packed my underwear. Ciao!

Comments:
Just posted a review - and I wanted to THANK YOU both for this book. It really is fantastic. The design info is wonderful, and the patterns... *swoon*

Bravo to you and Jillian both!

I've pre-ordered my from Amazon.co.uk, so as soon as it arrives, I'll give a glowing review!

Congratulations! The world has needed this book and I'm so glad it's finally here. I can't wait to see all the amazing designs you've put together. Yay!

Congratulations on the book, you must be very proud. AND the web site - that's a lot of work!

Hugs on the book review. Some people just don't get it. There's a complaint on a Meg Swanson book that it doesn't contain 'detailed instructions'. Well of course not. It's Meg Swanson. Oy. Probably the same exact person who wrote your review.

Congrats! I can't wait to get my hands on it.

ah, que c'est belle!

Felicitations!

you're awesome -- love you! have fun on your trip!

Auguri!

HI!!
I'm driving crazy trying to locate in Knitty that area where the readers post photos of their own versions of knitty's designs. Is it still there?
Love
Pilar

did you see the wonderful review clara parkes did on knittersreview.com today? it's awesome (but then again, so are you gals).
mwah!

Darlin, check out Fuzzy Noodle Knits blog for an independant review that'll make you feel GREAT. She loves it. In no uncertain terms.

Congratulations!

I've been reading rave reviews about Big Girl Knits all over the web. Congratulations -- I think you have a hit! You have done a great service for "amples". These garments are very attractive and va-voomy. I'm more of a curvy shrimp than an ample, and I love the looks in the book.

I am so totally impressed with this book and its patterns! It's well overdue and I raved about it on my blog too!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
