i had a DAY.

And though I've had a lot of fun in my life, I've had surprisingly few DAYS*. At least in recent memory. You know the day with the friend you can laugh with so easily, time passes and you don't even need the espresso you were sure you'd have to chug just to stay awake? One of those days.

That's Tanya. Yes, I know. That's just the back of her head. I cannot explain it. Tanya is so freaking gorgeous, I'm scared to introduce her to my husband, yet she is without question the least photogenic person I've ever met. This is as close to capturing her on film as I may ever come.

Anyway, yesterday was about laughter, buying stuff we didn't know existed until we happened upon it, starting a fan club for our waitress at the Last Temptation [she may be joining us at LK one of these weeks], drinking white sangria, eating dead squid bits and avoiding a trip to the hospital over a possible instant allergic reaction to alpaca [not mine -- hers!]. There were also stories exchanged with Aleta about former boyfriends and vests. A damned fine day.

*When your BFF lives 5 hours away, your spontaneous days of riotous fun together are pretty rare.

Where's Knitty? It ain't September yet. Soon, my pets. Soon enough. :-)

Comments:
Gotta love those days. May you have dozens more, soon!

I see in the foreground the little button tray. The last time I was there I was compelled to buy some delicious little ceramic buttons, made by pressing a vintage metal button into the ceramic, leaving the most delicate impression. They're so lovely that every time I go to use them, I choose other buttons so I can just keep them on my desk. Long live LK.

Oh you are so hilarious... No mention of the apostrophes though. I LOVE that picture... it is my best picture yet!

i checked my diary (v.1992) and there was no mention of the vests. i guess i wasn't such a completist in those days.

I swear I'm cuter than my photos make me appear. Which is why I don't like to take pictures. Suddenly a mustache is revealed that I didn't know was there. I think I need adopt the "back of the head approach". But then you'd be subjected to my ass...which may not be so bad ;)
Seriously.

Any word on how the calendar contest judging is going?

It's september now. *taps foot anxiously*

Sorry for the Near-hospital event over the alpaca. But i'm glad i'm not the only one who experiences ultra-drama allergic reactions to Alpaca.

My best friend is 3 1/2 hours away from me,so I know what you mean...I get to go play with mine next weekend!!! : )

i own alpacas, and work with their fiber and from what i've learned talking to people, most times when someone has an allergic reaction to alpaca, it's really because it was washed in/processed with something they're allergic too. I sure hope so, cause I know I'd be devastated if i couldn't get near those cute little sweeties and their gorgeous fur.
