well, then.

doc is just keeping an eye on me, that's all. ultrasound has been requested but she is not worried in the slightest, and she's very cautious, my doc.

so cautious that she stuck me twice: flu and twinrix [hepatitis vaccination] to make sure i don't get sick on my upcoming [this friday!] vacation south. consequently, i fell asleep on the couch upon returning home and am just now returning to consciousness.

also, when one is feeling melancholy, watching Rent is not necessarily the best choice. i'd never seen it before, and it was on the tivo, so i watched it. i feel like i should hug someone now.

[does anyone but me wonder why some of the lyrics in that musical were so brilliant and anything-but-cliche and some were so nauseatingly predictable that i needed to fast forward past them to keep from screaming? did two different people write the thing? i'm just asking.]

p.s. daniel craig naked, in a chair. oh. my.

Comments:
I got the exact call last week. You're young (i.e., dense breasts), mammograms are only accurate for women over 50 (i.e., those whose breasts are no longer dense), and radiologists are terrified of malpractice suits. They just want to make sure they see nothing. Don't worry. Besides... if the reverse were true, and they wanted to make sure they saw *something*, they would have gotten you in immediately.

In my case... it really was nothing and they ended up rating my mammo normal. Thorough is good.

actually, they did see something, but it's just a lymph node that the doctor wants to monitor. she poked about with her fingers for 10 minutes and couldn't feel a thing. hence the ultrasound. like i said, she's cautious. fine by me.

with the RENT thing, no it was only written by one person, but when they made the movie they said a lot of what had originally been sung, and it got very "cheezy". most of the cast had also completely lost their voices, having blown them when they originally appeared in RENT. oh well...
but yeah, not so much a feel-good kinda thing...
and i ditto the "oh my" on bond.

oh YEAH on the Daniel Craig. I was "meh" on him until I saw the movie. HUBBA HUBBA! (Don't tell hubby hubby LOL)

I hope things are on continued 'not to worry' status.

I just watched RENT (the movie) for the first time this weekend too! I've seen the stage production three times, and even though it did get a bit cheezy with some of the lines being read that were originally sung, I didn't care. I love the story, I love [most of] the music. It definitely makes you want to hug someone. Certainly not something to watch when you're a little low.

Amy,

I just went to the newest Knitty and noticed that in the archives we don't see the little thumbnails anymore. I liked those, since the description doesn't always give the full picture. Having the little photo give a nice visual reference.

I do like that you get to select which type of item you want to knit, just wish that you'd kept the thumbnails when the list is displayed.

Thanks for all the hard work!
Maaike

Whew on the booby front...

And since you now feel like celebrating, how would you feel about a vast horde of Knittyheads descending upon Toronto sometime in the next six months or so? Assuming you didn't have to organize a thing, just lie back and receive adulations, of course. We're plotting on the Coffeehouse, just fyi...

maaike, we never had the thumbnails in the index. just the covers of the issues, which are still there.

and lllllllagma woman, you can come up here, absolutely. i'm gonna be gone [oh, surprise? hardly!] a few weekends between now and june, so we should talk dates.

and thanks to everyone for the rent feedback. there were certainly lines that sounded like they needed to be sung in the film, but for someone who'd never seen the play, they weren't as annoying to me as the cheezy song guitar dude sings at the end (he worked a year on THAT?).

Once you get through the first time that they want to look at things a bit closer, it's much easier to deal with. I, too, definitely prefer the cautious route!

Mmmm, Daniel Craig is definitely easy on the eyes, isn't he?

Been there on the mammogram. They actually did see something one time, a nice blob, and said "oh, we'll just watch it for about 6 months" which totally freaked me out since my sister was dying of breast cancer right then. In 6 months, no blob at all.

Last time, I had to have a redo about a week later -- they saw a "smudge" -- turned out they hadn't marked my nipple and that was the smudge! From now on, they will always mark the nipple if I get my way!

Hope all is okay when you check back in later.

Mammo and Ultrasound and "watching" - I hate it, hate it, hate it! Even when you think you aren't worrying, it seems to be in the back of the mind - although I do have to say it is better to have a cautious doc than not - positive thoughts coming your way! And oh, YES! daniel craig naked in a chair ! ;)

I so badly wanted to like Rent because one of my very young friends adored it. But I too drifted in and out. It was not quite appropriate for my daughter, either. At least she didn't fall in love with it like she did Phantom. I don't think I could listen to that music every day.
It also took me too long to get the La Boheme nod.

HA! You know, the first time I saw the commercial for the Bond movie and thought, "Why him?" then I saw the part with him walking out of the water with no shirt on and said, "Ah, that's why. Good choice."
