guilty pleasure confession time.

I suppose it's natural. You like an artist, so you go back in time to see what they did before you learned they exist and that you love what they do. It's perfectly acceptable in music...it's expected, really!

So why, then, did I hold back on my confession for my deep and abiding love for Felicity until now? Alias started it. Lost confirmed it. So when I realized that the formerly scorned-by-me Felicity was a product of the same twisted brain that made my two favorite shows, I found myself sitting still every Saturday at 10am, watching it. I've just watched the very last episode and I think this is the most satisfying show finale I've seen in ages.

Let's be clear. It's not about Keri Russell for me. She's cute. She's fun to watch, but she wasn't the reason I watched. The reason I got so hooked is the ensemble cast that JJ Abrams created. How messed up they are, how they interact, the stupid stuff they do. How much you can fall in love with someone who doesn't exist [Javier, I love you! Molly, make better choices! Noel, come over here and sit by me a while!]. And it's also about New York city, a place I always dreamed of living.

Because I didn't really get the bug for this show until the 2nd season, I have season one to watch now to figure out how everyone got to where they were by the time I became smitten. And because JJ Abrams is my TV god, he's currently working on What About Brian, which is totally grown-up Felicity. Love it just as much. Not quite sure about Six Degrees [which I thought was cancelled, but seems to be on some sort of hiatus...].

So there. Now you know. I love Felicity -- even the last four episodes -- and will not apologize.

Comments:
Hey it's okay, I love Felicity too. :D Whoo, nice to have that off my chest.

PS I love Knitty!!! And I can't wait to get the new book!!!

Oh, I am such a Felicity fan! Ben or Noel, Ben or Noel...And Javier may be one of the best characters on television ever.

I think we all have some guilty pleasure...I fully fess up, for me it's 'Bones' and 'Grey's Anatomy'. Can't miss 'em ;)

I just read today that Keri Russell is pregnant! That's making me feel old! I need to find the Felicity reruns!

I didn't even get to read your blog yet. The second I saw the picture I was like FELICITY!!!!! EEEEEE. I love, love, love that show. I loved the ensemble of that show so much, they'll always hold a special little notch in my heart. :)

I even liked when it went loco with the time travel. :P (seriously What(!) were they thinking, lol)

I own all four seasons of Felicity on DVD and I still watch it every Saturday morning!

Angel.

Oh, how I loved Angel. Hated Buffy mind you, but I adored Angel ... and not -just- because David Boreanaz (holy shite I just typed that right without looking it up first!) is very nearly the hottest man on earth.

No, I liked it because of its campy, over-the-top-ness. I loved the cheesy dialogue, the predictable plotlines .. I loved it all.

At least now I get to watch David being all surly and sexy in Bones.

Oh how I miss felicity.... come to think of it, I don't think I ever did see the last few episodes... I guess I'll have to go find them.

That's where Jennifer Garner got her start- and met her first husband!

I love Felicity with a firey burning passion.

Scott Speedman went to my high school! Earl Haig SS in North York! Woot!

I won't apologize either. I watched the show from premiere to finale in real-time, baybee.

I love Felicity too! I watched every show when it was on and this year I started collecting the DVD's. I'm up to Junior Year. The Freshman Year is by far - THE BEST! My husband thinks I'm crazy. I'm happy to know that I'm not the only one!

Your not alone.
I must watch it whenever I can.
