Queensland Cotolino, a love poem

on the needles now, the Cables and Os cardigan from No Sheep For You.
Yarn: Queensland Cotolino [60% cotton, 40% linen], color 17

you do not yield easily,
yet you are not as inflexible as your pure sister, linen.
you acquiesce to the needle with a minimum of coaxing.
my twisted rib is happy.

[i will not quit my day job, promise].

p.s. No Sheep is in stock at Amazon. Let the plotzing commence!

This IS your day job, remember?

yeah, but writing bad poetry is not in the job description.

bahaha.

i think you're a good poetess.
;)

Ooh, it looks good so far. I'm very curious about how this yarn knits.

Beautiful! I love the colour too.

Just think, you can change the job description any time you want. Nice start to your sweater!

Amy, I think you'll look stunning in that color. Glad you scored some.
I got my copy of the book. Looks so great. I am composing a review of sorts to appear on my blog within the next couple of days. The gist of which is: wish I had had a book like that years ago.
PS: I am glad you're feeling better.

um, the first link for "no sheep for you" goes to some ghetto site: http://nosheepforyou.com/

Just thought you'd wanna know

The yarn is beautiful! So is the pattern. Now I have to buy the book. The link worked for me - took me to Interweave Press!

Love this sweater. Do you know, will anybody be offering your new book for sale at Stitches West this weekend?

hi, laura -- i don't know, but it's arrived in many stores, so it's very possible! let me know if you find it!

and thanks, everyone! i've moved on from the ribbing and am now in an endless sea of cables and YOs. :-)

That's such a beautiful sweater even though I do doubt my ability to persevere through the endless sea!
Got the book, love the book, and hunted around until I found this spot to say so in public. "Bespoke" is the pattern I've been looking for, how brilliant to find it written down!
Thank you Amy!

I want my own copy of the book!!!!! I saw a preview, and there is a mosaic sweater that has my name on it! And it doesn't hurt that I have a stash of 2 colours of Fleece Artist Silk Stream to make it out of!!! Any notion when we will be getting ours?

any day, deb -- lots of designers have their copies already. it's just the postal system we're waiting on now [i don't have my copies yet, either, but i know they're coming].

hang in!

and gail, it's actually quite soothing. a step up from stockinette in terms of mindlessness [which is what i value in a good knitting pattern -- something easy to follow that looks gorgeous when finished]. in fact, i knit several rows tonight at the s&b and didn't screw up. miraculous!
