No Sheep for Muggles...now on YouTube

Yup, I did tee vee this morning, and I wasn't alone. Wanna see the hottest models in Toronto? Rachel H, Jacquie and Julia looked gorgeous in the sweaters, smiled bright enough to light distant galaxies and bantered with the host, Dina. [She is really nice and very good at what she does. And she does it all in 4" platform heels.]

Anyway, enough preamble. Here it is:

More soon on the fabulous KW guild and a recap of last week's events. But first, a nap. I'm running on 4 hours sleep. Thanks to hub for pressing the go button and making a nice .mov file for me.

I got up early to watch, and you were great — articulate and relaxed (how do you do that? I feel certain that if I had to do that I would be tongue-tied). You did an excellent job of conveying the scope of the book in a short time with the props, the skeins and the models. Well done.

Yay!!! You were awesome! It was such fun getting to hear your voice. Can't wait to meet you in person in Philly!!!

Awesome! It was wonderful to see you in action. I've heard your interview on IK.

Spreading the knitty love!

You were FABULOUS! Nice to see the things I missed while standing nervously off to the side there.

You looked wonderful! Now I have to search for corn yarn....thanks. :)

ohhhh, NICE. very inspirational. the models looked much more relaxed than rachel claims above. :)

you're a natural!

Amy - fabulous on camaera - I concur Rachel h! (though still jealous you got to wear the awesome silk sweater!)
Do I really flip my hair that much?
It must be a nervous tick!

Fabulous! I missed it this morning - I was already on my way to work, so I'm glad you got the You Tube edition!
You were great, the models were great, the samples were lovely (although I'm one of the lucky ones - I've seen them in person!)
COngratulations!!

I might feel gratified, but I am also curious: you claimed that there was a patented process on treating hemp. Details, please.

Signed, patent agent.

Amy - good job! You look so relaxed. You oughta be in movies! Thanks to your hubby for getting it up on YouTube for those of us not blessed with living in TO.

wonderful! Thanks for sharing!

Great job! You look so calm..way to go!

I am so glad you You Tubed it Amy!!! I totally gapped it and forgot to set my PVR. You were eleoquent & enthusiastic and Rachel, Jacquie & Julia were awesome!!

You are a STAR, baby!

"Just a little seaweed.." Cracked me up! Fabulous interview! I LOVE how the whole thing proceeded just like every other TV interview without anyone ever implying in any way that knitting is weird. Awesome! I'm totally impressed with how *comfortable* you seemed, too! Wow, girl!

And the cable sweater...*gaaaah*. Have to check again on my amazon shipment status....

Great job! I'd have been FREAKING OUT - you looked very comfortable.

And I'll never tire of hearing Canadians say "process". :)

It's no easy feat looking that gorgeous and sounding that cogent at the freakin early BT hours. Aaand we got a close-up of Rachel H's ta-tas. ;-)

Well done, laydeez. Bravo, encore, and throwing of roses.

etcgirl

That does it, now I have to buy the book, if only for the fitted aran sweater.

Amy - I knew you were a rock star, but now a TV star too. Woa! - Tara

First of all - I speak in public for a living. You, m'dear, are a goddess. Articulate, relaxed... bravo!

Secondly, I grew up as a border brat in Buffalo. Toronto was our family's fav getaway. Your accent brought tears to my eyes.

Thanks so much for sharing!

i set the vcr this morning and endured a whole bunch of blather about we will rock you - for you. it was so worth it! when we watched the tape, i screeched "it's the lace wings shawl! i made the same one!" and "it's jacquie!" and "rachel is even prettier in real life!" blake was exiled until the segment was over because he kept talking over you. so fun!

and also: the part when rachel & jacquie look at each other and giggle is only surmounted by the part when the hostess is trying to figure out why she wants to pronounce the title oddly and you giggle to yourself. that shrug you do is for all of us who are in on the joke.

wowsers! you did so great! i'd have been terrified. you seemed so relaxed, joking about seaweed.

the whole segment went really well, calling in your lovely models, squeezing skeins, explaining steeks in 6.5 seconds.

Fantastic! I love your pieces and I'm a lover of wool.

Very cool!

Fab job! You were fantastic and all the items looked great!

Thanks for your talk at the KW Guild, Amy, I learned a ton. Really enjoyed meeting you, as well. Love the book!

Great youtube show, thanks, and in seeing this I wondered if you could help with a question I have about the process of soy, indeo, etc fibres...are there plastics used in this process, I read that there were polymides and thought they were a plasticizing process and wondered if you could help me on this ...thanks cedar...ps loved the book

Amy rock Breakfast Television! Way to go, Woman!

Well done Amy! Showin' BT how it's done!

Yay, you were great!! :)

I showed this to my wee boy this morning. At first he was kind of excited that Mummy was on tv. That quickly changed to being mad at me for not bringing him on tv too. Sigh.

Ah well. I'm pretty the stuff I found for his birthday will get me out of trouble.

Thanks again for letting me be part of this.

thanx for posting the segment...great that i can watch it from this side of the pond

Pure genius. Congrats, Amy! And cheers to the awesome models, too!

Awesome! You came off very at ease and comfortable on camera. Those corn/seaweed/soy yarns sound neat-o.
