Page 3: actuary, a statistician who calculates the risks and probabilities of accident, illness and death for insurance companies and similar agencies. On the basis of mortality tables, etc, the appropriate insurance rates are determined.

Ha! I used to desperately want to be an actuary!
 
The job of an actuary is supposed to be one of the best jobs to have--very low stress and very high pay and very high job security.

Of course, becoming an actuary is one of the hardest things to do.

yes I wanted to be an actuary, too. That is, until I found out what I had to do to become one.
 
my 30 year old daughter is an actuary at an insurance company in Indianapolis. She has always been a numbers freak. Passed her final acturial exam last year and now makes six figures.
