it's me, completely lacking in gall[bladder]

i believe the last few days would fall under the category of WTF, no?

i'll be back with a full recap shortly, but for now, i really want to thank jillian for keeping you all in the loop for me [and apologize to her for making her worry so much] and all of you that commented or thought good things for me. clearly it helped. my surgery was textbook, i was told.

quick summary:
- morphine is my friend
- it only really hurts when i get up or sit down. if i'm still, it's merely sore
- i <3 ohip

hugs to you all, but don't hug me back just yet! bed calling. bye.

Comments:
I'm so glad you're back, gall-less or no. Rest up!

who needs a gall bladder anyway? glad you are feeling better, slowly....

Oooh I'm so glad you're through all this! Rest up and feel better, I am sending many healing vibes in your direction ~~~~~~~~~~~~>

Glad you got through everything - rest up - have your vegetable soup and feel better :-)

The gallbladder's loss is our gain. Rest up and get well soon!

Blessings from a fellow gallbladder absentee!

I'm so glad everything went smoothly! Sending you love and a very gentle hug around the shoulders.

I'm so happy that evrything went smoothly. Can't wait to see your picture in that textbook ;-)

I'm very glad to hear that all went according to plan.

a friend of mine recently had his out as well (in July). he's recovering nicely, and i hope you do as well. :)

I'm glad everything was textbook and here's to a speedy recovery!

When I was little (3 or 4) my mom had to have her gallbladder out and she was throwing up a lot, which I apparently thought was cool and kept asking her to "Throw up again, Mommy!" Here's hoping that you didn't have anyone like me in the hospital with you!

Glad to hear all went well ... look after yourself!!

Good to hear it all worked out. Here's a nice pat on the head since hugging is out :)

Woo! Get lots of rest. I'm so glad you're on the mend!

And no worries: whatever you lack in gall(bladder) you make up for in (yarn)balls. :->

Glad you're on the mend, Doll!

Gall bladders are highly overrated. Glad yours won't be giving you any more trouble ma'm.

yay! may you continue to have a complete and speedy recovery. :)

so glad it was easy! speedy recovery to you. my hubby to be is getting his out next tuesday. if you were prepped, it wouldn't be so bad. poor you, emergency surgery is scary!

Glad you're back Rest now!

oh and share your morphine!

I'm so glad surgery went well :) Get some rest and feel better soon!

good news about the text book surgery and so glad you're okay and it seems your sense of humour is intact. rest up!

I'm glad you're on the mend, Amy!

Better living through chemicals!

Glad it went smoothly! Wishing you a speedy recovery. :)

You didn't need all that gall anyway.

Glad that you're on the mend.

wtf indeed! Rest up, guilt not, and come back strong and healthy!

I'm glad you're back home and that the surgery went well. Fast, fast recovery to you. (I find out if I have the same fate on the 24th, so I can relate on some level).

I'm out one gallbladder too... and musch better for it!
Feel better!

i bring soup next week, maybe monday or tuesday, maybe both cause one pot -o-soup would be from Jillian (cause she lives far away, and would if she could)

Note to Jillian.... channel me through mind power girl and let me know what kind of soup I should make on your behalf.

rest on the weekend, I'm going to drug filled rave...love denny

I'm glad to hear that you're doing better. I'm missing my gall bladder too, but it was a planned removal. Watch the fat intake a lot to start with. Good luck with the mending.

This totally happened to me too! I thought I was having a flippin' heart attack. Emergency surgery and it's all gone! Surprise surprise surprise...

Glad it's all gone for you now.
Yeeouch!

So glad you are doing better! Cyber hugs don't hurt! ;)

Be careful when you sneeze. It helps to hold your incision before hand.

Glad your back...take it easy!

Here's hoping your road to wellness is smooth as silk!;-)
I was so overwhelmed at actually meeting you at Lettuce Knit at the end of May that I forgot to tell you that knitty.com and your books rock the big one. Take care! Daisy from Ottawa

I hope they have you on one of those patient-controlled pain med machines.

I'll echo the take it easy on fat intake at first since you'll be a bit short in bile production compared to what you were before. We can all use a bit less bile in our lives.

Glad it went well! Hope you have a speedy recovery and the only needles you need next are for knitting.

Hang in there! I had my gallbladder out two years ago. Trust me, the worst is over. The gallbladder attacks are much worse than the recovery. Hang in there and knit when you can and you'll be back on your feet in no time. :)

Glad to hear it went okay! Take it easy.

:)

Gall Bladders are for Sissies, and you my friend, are no sissy!

Hope you are back on you feet (and vespa) soon.

Much love,

Susan

Glad you're ok. My Mom had hers out last year, but it wasn't an emergency. She healed pretty quickly though.

Rest up and feel better soon!

Ay, Amy! We had surgery the same day! Now, I'm missing a fallopian tube and your missing a gallbladder! Crazy! I hope you are convalescing well; I'm doped up on Percocet myself.

Were they able to pull it out of your bellybutton? That's not normally all that bad, but to have abdominal surgery SUCKS.

Feel better and enjoy the good drugs for a bit.

Wow - I was so surprised to hear what happened! It was "fortunate" that the nasty little gall bladder at least waited until you got home. Get lots of rest so you can mend quickly - definitely take advantage of all the pampering and sympathy that you can possible get from everyone around you! You deserve it! A big, virtual, painless hug for you!!

I am short one gall-bladder also, so I completely sympathize. Take care of yourself!
