call me! and a little pinkness

Hope you are liking fall Knitty. I was quite glad to get it up and mostly bug free, too. The cold is now a spasmy cough, so the doc prescribed Flovent. Erp.

And to celebrate, I'm doing Shannon's Knitgrrl podcast today. Did you know it was a live call-in show? Seriously. So if you've got any questions for me, please call in! The show page is here, and the number to call to speak to Shannon and I is (718) 664-9504. Show starts at 2pm eastern time today [Friday] and there's nothing worse than a call-in show with no callers. Please, don't leave me hanging. Yes, mom, you can call in if you want. :-)

oops. technical difficulties. so we've rescheduled for 6pm next week, so the west coasters have a chance of getting in. Friday, 6pm. Sorry if you were waiting for us!

Oh my. I ordered a seat cover for the Vespa at the end of my west-coast trip. I was giddy on Sunnyvale friends and bubble tea and I ordered this crazy pink snow leopard [i don't even have to say faux fur, do i?] custom seat cover from Crystal, who makes each one herself. I just couldn't handle the BEIGENESS of the seat, even if it was sorta faux suede.

So it's here, and it's the definition of PINK. You will see me coming and going with this under my tush. In fact, it seems this fabric was so popular that it sold out. And no, I'd never order camo. To me, camo = war, even if it's in another color. There was nothing else that grabbed me like the pink snow leopard, so that's what I got. Snork.

Honestly, though, it's very well made, with custom cutouts for the bag hook at the front and the keyhole in the side of the seat, and it's washable. And it makes me giggle when i look at the scoot. But Massimo...you think he is man enough to handle this much pink?

And for anyone who wants one, Crystal will do custom fabric for you. One day, I'll have her do a barkcloth cover for me.

So freakin' cute! We have scooter envy here at the moment. Sandi's Kevin got an electric scooter and we haves the lust!

That jealousy I was telling you about? Now at insane levels! Massimo is too cute with the new addition.

Love the seat cover! Such cuteness. As to the fall Knitty, i'm head-over-heels in love with so many of the patterns. i just don't know when the heck i'll get to knitting all the stuff i want, which is probably the most common problem we all face. It's wonderful, though!

Hey Amy,

So funny--I have a Vespa too now (which I call Vespy), so I definitely covet the cover. I both hate the beige and worry about getting it dirty.

Vespy is plum: http://archiknist.blogspot.com/2007/08/lookie.html

And I love the fall patterns!

The new fall Knitty is WUNDERBAR!!! Hopefully, I will chat with you and Shannon tonight!

So with the new fall knitty up, what will be the first thing you knit for your vespa.... A helmet accesory, key chain, official vespa carry all?

Love the fall Knitty, I've just finished a couple of major deadlines so I'm going to celebrate by reading all the articles in a row!

I'm so jealous of your Vespa.

Just had to say that Knitty gets better and better with each issue! How do you do that while undergoing surgery?! Well done!

Of course, I haven't knit anything but a scarf this year, but when I'm ready to make some knitting time I know exactly where to go! Good, good stuff!

Great fall issue! Note: In the past I've always accessed Knitty by entering "knitty.com" but if I do that now I still get routed to the summer issue. (In fact, I was checking daily for the fall issue but I didn't find it till two days late, when I saw from your blog that it was up.) Maybe this is just something I'm doing wrong....

I LOVE Fall Knitty. So many lovely patterns I can't decide what to begin with. You relly do the most marvelous job. Thank you.

Scooters are big here on Vancouver Island. There are a few hardy souls who use theirs year round. The most popular scooters are the four wheeled type that lots of seniors and disabled use - what a wonderful way for them to get about, I think - have not seen any pink snow leopard seat covers yet!
I just want you to know that I think the collection of patterns on Knitty this time are some of the best. There are at least three that I want to knit! Thanks for all the work you do to get them out there to us!
