Shazam! with extra pinkness at the end

When I visited Scout on her home turf last year, we had a massive dye party and the result was a new colorway we called ZuluKnitty -- a collaboration between the two of us. She offers it in her shop, and I've seen many skeins pass through her Flickr stream, so I know people are ordering it, and that makes me happy and proud. :-)

Well, someone special was having a birthday and I wanted her to have some Scoutness, so we put our heads together again and here's what Scout came up with: ZuluKnitty Shazam [it's the skein on the left]! The same basic color palette as the original ZuluKnitty, but with extra shazam, oomph and general joie de vivre.

You'll also notice that the yarns look different. That's because, when Scout painted the first skein of ZuluKnitty [on the right], she didn't yet offer silk in her shop, so we bought retail stuff. You can now get this gorgeous 2-ply cascade silk directly in her store, in whatever colorway you choose. And she has a lot of them. Power couple is my new favorite.

Thank you, Ms Scout! This skein will be the one I use to teach my special SeaSocks class with.

I didn't mean to fall in love, but I did. Apple released a new pink [peeeeeeeeeeenk!] version of the new Nano just in time for Valentine's Day. And I might have walked around, squeeing "peeeeeeeeeeenk!" for an entire day. Okay, I actually did.

So when a small box came from Apple today, addressed to hub, I should have known, but I didn't. This little pink jewel was inside. He spoils me, my boy, and I am very grateful.

The first thing I listened to was Cast On. It's fabulous, and now holds my favorite playlist, a few choice movies I've yet to watch and lots of Neil Gaiman.

Life, she good.

SO jealous! Ha ha! Enjoy your pink Nano (peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeenk!!!) and enjoy Cast On. It's a wonderful podcast. Great for some good Sunday afternoon knitting time.
I'm off to Scout's site now for some new silky yarn. Ta ta for now!

Yes, pink. But tell us about the red - the Ladybug. How's it going with that? My brother just got me one (I'm not 100% sure why but I'm not going to ask - I think its because I'm making his girlfriend a sweater. A pretty good trade!) but I haven't taken possession yet.

ladybug news will be coming in a bit -- watch for the spring Knittyspin column!

What fun with your pink Nano!!! I have an unrelated comment. Have you seen the movie about Edith Piaf starring Marion Cotillard? In the movie she wears gorgeous hand knit items, and Edith knits steadily through the movie. I've looked all over, including French blogs and pattern sites, but haven't found any patterns for the items knit. If you have any clout in the world, get the patterns for the sweaters and put them on Knitty!! thanks for listening.

Pink iPod Nanos, hand-dyed silk, and Neil Gaiman. Seriously, does it get any better?

MUWAH!!!

goodness... they came out with that pink one a WEEK after i bought my nano... mine's green. and i can't even return it, cause i bought it "open package"... sigh. i do love me some pink :)

oh, and just so you know, the word verification that i got was "frejew"... iiiiinteresting!

We'd say paaaaaaank down here in VA, but either way it's gorgeous! And Scout's stuff is so beautiful.

Yes people, she did go around for a whole day saying pinnnnk.

Now I'm saying Luuuuucky.

ah, Neil Gaiman! If you haven't yet, please please please listen to the Anansi Boys, unabridged, with Lenny Henry narrating. Apparently Gaiman wrote the book with Lenny Henry in mind, and it's fabulous! One of the best audiobooks I've ever listened to, and I'm an audible freak!

enjoy the nano goodness,
Jen

Hi,
I love you blog & this is my first comment!
I had to tell you that hubby & I bought our first Ipod's 3 days before the pink was released! He a black Nano and me a purple shuffle because I didn't like the colors & if there was no pink I could live without a screen. Well I screamed like a schoolgirl when I saw the pink and swore he and the salesman tricked me. To my surprise my mom actually wanted my shuffle for ease of use & I now own a pretty pink Ipod! I love that I can spin & knit to my own beat or listen to my podcasts. I'm so glad we had been saving for so long for them now! The only thing I don't like is having to wear the arm band at the gym to hold it. As a big girl I am realizing that while I am being brow beat by every news report to loose weight, there are no appropriate exercise clothes
or armband to help me accomplish this. The armband I am stuck with makes me look like I have a jelly doughnut hidden in my sleeve and the worst thing is that I don't even like jelly doughnuts!!! I feel as though I am going to get a pat down when I enter the gym for trying to smuggle something in!

Well, thank you for writing your blog as I do enjoy it. I will step back to my lurking status now. Have a great weekend!
Diane
