it's big big boat time again!

Hub and I are furiously packing, buying anti-seasick patches for behind our ears and preparing for a week up the inside passage...we're going to Alaska!

I can't believe it's really here. We've been talking (Patricia, the cruise organizer and I) about this for almost a year. And now we get to go!

I'll take lots of pictures and have many stories for you when I get back. Be good and keep knitting!

Comments:
You know, I've never thought of myself as much of a cruise type, but one to Alaska sounds damn cool. Have a great time.

I want to be jealous because I really, really want to go, but I can't because you all are going to have such fun!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for calm waters.....have fun!

Can't wait to see you there!

mmmm seal flavored gum.

gum gum gum

Have a great time, and let me know about those seasickness patches... not having found decent drugs is the only reason I have yet to go on a cruise :)

SO JEALOUS. Have an awesome time!

christina -- we've only done one other cruise, but we used the patches then too. they worked perfectly! the only side effect was that i had trouble reading fine print while the patch was on, even with my glasses. the hub couldn't get his eyes to stop dilating on the third day, which was problematic in sunny grand cayman. anyway, we both took the patches off after 3 days and even with choppy waters, never had a problem with seasickness the whole trip. (and after the patches came off, both our eyes returned to normal within 12 hours, too)

Alaska is so amazing. I went hiking on Crow Pass in the Anchorage/Seward/Kenai Peninsula area. I think Seward is a nice little fishing town. The mountains are beautiful and so much better in person than in pictures. I hope you have so much knitty fun while you're on your cruise.

much knitty love, elizabeth

Have a great time! I'm jealous. But, I'd heard that there will be an East Coast cruise next year. That could work for me.

Say hello to Ketchikan for me! Thats where I grew up. It's quite a little artists community. They have a wearable art show every year and if you go to the arts council building at the opening of creek street you can see a wearable art show that my mother curated.

Safe journey! xoxo

Randomly: ginger apparently helps against motion sickness.

safe travels today. see you friday at terminal 30.

Taking a page off of Ravelry here...

Jealous ( 1 )

Bon voyage! I hope to make a similar cruise someday. You can get some beautiful pix up there and I can't wait to see them... if you post them, of course.

I was born and grew up and lived most of my life in Alaska--in fact I'm going up there in August to my 40th high school reunion in Juneau! Do enjoy Alaska--the last great wilderness in North America--I hope you see some whales, seals, sea lions, ravens, eagles, bears, deer, wolves and moose....get off that ship and so some exploring.

Back yet? We're all waiting.... No pressure, really. Just sitting on the edge of my seat, hoping to see some cool Alaska pix, every time I click on your site, only to be disappointed... sigh! (how's that for melodramatic?)
