I don't get to vote in Canada as a Landed Immigrant [aka legal permanent resident non-citizen]. We've got a sign on the lawn and hub will vote for our family.

I'm a Canadian in the US. I have a green card, but won't be eligible to apply for citizenship until just after this election.

I'm jealous, I keep checking the mail, waiting for my ballot (voting absentee for the first time)and I'm getting terribly impatient. Although, there's something about the fact that dropping an envelope in the mail isn't quite the same as pulling the little lever (yeah, NY is old-school).

i've never gotten to pull a lever! i wonder what it would be like!

now i have to decide when to mail my ballot. i was going to do it at rhinebeck (poetic, no?) but i think that's cutting it too close to the election. so i'll probably just send it from here.

Pulling the lever is terrific. Talk about being part of the grand machinery of democracy: in NYC, the machine is huge and made of battered steel and covered with sweet little switches and when you pull the big red lever it goes KRRRRRRA-CHUNKKKKK.

What a rush.
