Knitting for Blythe is a treat. It doesn't take long and she loves everything you make for her!

This hat is a Blythe favorite. As long as you make a rectangle of the same finished measurements, you can use any yarn. But the Deco and Party Ribbon yarns are fun, stretchy and they make the best tassels.

These hats were designed for and featured in the CWC Books publication, Darling Blythe, which includes gorgeous photographs, fun features and sewing patterns especially for lovers of Blythe.© CWC

DIRECTIONS
Cast on 46 stitches.
Row 1 [WS]: Purl 1 row.
Row 2 [RS]: Work in stockinette stitch, starting with a knit row, until the work is 4" tall. End after a wrong-side row.

For Version 2 hat only:
Work in kiwi green until hat is 3" tall.
Change to ultramarine and work remaining 1".

For all versions:
Slip first 23 stitches onto a third double-point needle.
Fold wrong sides together and bind off all stitches using a three-needle bind off.

FINISHING

Sew side seam. Weave in ends.

Create tassels by wrapping matching yarn around a piece of cardboard 4" tall. Wrap generously for a full tassel. Secure the tassel at the center point by wrapping more matching yarn around and around several times around all the loops on one end, knotting securely. Cut opposite ends to open the tassel and trim to desired length. Sew tassels to the hat, one on each corner.
