In winter I’m always cold. It doesn’t seem to matter how many layers I wear, or how often I run up and down the stairs, my fingers and toes are always numb! This winter I want to be well prepared, and so I have knitted myself this pair of mittens. I own many pairs of gloves and fingerless mittens but not a single pair of full-size mittens, which actually keep your hands much warmer than gloves. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed (inside my mittens) that they will work for me this winter and I’ll be toasty warm! If you would prefer a pair of fingerless mittens to the full mitten version, work until the mitten top and then work an I-cord bind off across all stitches. Work the same for the thumb. |
