Scarves are utility pieces in my wardrobe. They are good both
when it's cold and when it's just nippy,
or when the autumn weather is tempting you to enjoy the last
little warmth, and you don't want to get out the thick layers,
but still needs a little warming touch. The solution was this scarf with a big, bold blade of a leaf (lamina means leaf blade) and wavy, garter stitch tips. The pattern is perfect for showing off the beauty of variegated yarn. |

This scarf is knit in two halves, beginning with a provisional
cast on. Use your preferred provisional cast on technique; directions for one technique may be found here. Information about blocking lace can be found here and here. S2KP: Slip next 2 sts together, knitwise, as if to work a k2tog. Knit next st through back loop, then pass both slipped sts over st just knit. This forms a centered double decrease. ChartsThe charts for this pattern are very large. Each fits on a letter-sized page. Click the chart name below and print the resulting page. Main chart • End chart |
