INTRODUCTION
Cranberry Spritz

by Martha Emily
![]()
The Cranberry Spritz Sweater is highly textured with blocks of shifting rib at the yoke, hem, and cuffs, as well as the suggestion of bubbles formed from alternating tuck stitches across the body and arms. Knit from the top down in a yoke style, the slightly rounded V-neck adds a bit of extra interest to the neckline. Change the look of the sweater by wearing the V-neck in the back or turning it inside out to transform the bubble texture into a diamond pattern formed by crisscrossing lines. However you choose to wear it, the Cranberry Spritz Sweater will dazzle as you wait for warmer weather.

PATTERN NOTES
[Knitty's list of standard abbreviations and techniques can be found here.]
Construction method: This V-neck pullover is knit seamlessly from the top down. When joined, the yoke overlaps by a few stitches to form the V. Short-row shaping is then worked on both the back and front before establishing the body stitch pattern. When splitting for sleeves, the sleeve stitches are set aside to be picked up and knit down to the cuff. The body stitches are joined to be worked down to the hem without shaping.
Techniques:
- Double start cast on
- Three-needle join, similar to the three-needle bind-off
- German Short Rows
- Alternating tuck stitch (drop 4r ktog) drop stitch down four rows then knit the stitch, catching the four loose strands
- Purl two together bind off
