Knitty: little purls of wisdom
Chic-a
Title
beauty shot by Signe S. Simonsen

Tangy

Palisander is a reversible, textured scarf inspired by the deep, rich colors and beautiful grain lines of antique wooden furniture. Palisander is the name used in Denmark for Rosewood.

Along the length of the scarf run winding cables on one side and on the other it is covered in gnarly shapes.

The scarf is both wide and long, so as perfectly to ward off the frosty bite of winter, covering both ears and nose if necessary. In milder weather it can serve as a decorative little shoulder wrap.

LLI (Left Lifted Increase): Use the left needle to pick up the stitch 2 rows below the last stitch on the right needle. Knit into this stitch. 1 stitch has been increased.
(In this pattern, you will be working both a RLI increase and a LLI increase in the same stitch.)

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

designernamespacer Signe (pronounced [‘si nø]) lives in Copenhagen, Denmark.
She has only been knitting for 3 years, and started because a friend told her it wasn’t hard at all. With the help of online videos, it turned out it really wasn’t.

Signe is left handed, and knits mirror reversed of right handed knitters. Once she realized this (thanks to a wonderful thread on Ravelry) and learned to make adjustments when reading patterns, the last pieces fell into place.
Since then knitting has become way of life more than a mere pastime.

Signe can be found on Ravelry as Signest and on her blog.
