I learned how to knit about a month and a half before I learned that I was going to be an aunt for the first time. Needless to say, that was all the inspiration I needed to learn anything and everything I could. Maggie was the recipient of many of my firsts: first knitted hat, first knitted booties, first knitted sweater, etc. Birthdays have thus far been great opportunities for inspiration, and this sweater was originated for her second birthday. It's the perfect little sweater to provide an extra layer for your little lady on a breezy spring or autumn day.

Sister-in-law Morgan provides this helpful tip: have the little lady ball her hands into fists before putting her arms through the sleeves in order to avoid little fingers getting caught in the lacework.
