This design is my tribute to David Lynch's masterpiece TV show, Twin Peaks. I used two colorways of Zauberball to create an iconic Black Lodge pattern. This scarf is knitted in the round and twisted at the end for a pseudo-Mobius effect, as a never-ending gentle nightmare…

The pattern is easy to remember and work in Fair Isle, or Stranded knitting technique. The color gradient effect is created by two Zauberball skeins in fingering weight, fading into each other. You can use any color combination for your design, just make sure to choose color gradients with enough contrast with each other.

Schoppel Wolle Zauberball [75% Merino Wool and 25% Nylon ; 459yd/420m; 3.5oz/100g]; color:
[A] 1963 Cranberries; 1 skein
[B] 1508 Schatten; 1 skein

Recommended needle size

US #3/3.25mm circular needle, 16 inch/40 cm

marker
yarn needle
waste yarn and crochet hook for provisional cast on (or appropriate tools for your preferred method)

GAUGE

32 sts/28 rounds = 4 inches/10 cm in color pattern in stockinette stitch, after blocking

CHARTS

DIRECTIONS

Using a provisional method, CO 120 sts. Join both working yarns, place marker and join for working in the round.
Pattern round: Work Color Pattern Chart 10 times around.
Work as set until piece measures approximately 36 inches/91.5 cm.
Do not bind off.

FINISHING

Block; stitches are still live. You can choose to slip them to scrap yarn or leave them on the needle.

Remove scrap yarn from Provisional Cast on. Twist to create mobius shape. Using Kitchener stitch, graft ends together.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

designername Artist and designer, Alexandra Davidoff blends textures, colors, cultures and techniques to create unique pieces of wearable and decorative art. Her knitwear designs appear in Vogue Knitting, books from Noro and Malabrigo, Creative Knitting, Knitter's and Knitty magazines. She is also working with a number of yarn companies and websites, including Lion Brand Yarn Co., Annie's Crafts and Simplicity.

Alexandra has been teaching knitting classes in DFW area, Hill Country area and Rwanda, Africa. Since 2017, she has been working closely with the non-profit organization True Vineyard Ministries, creating original designs for their yarn, Handspun Hope. In September of 2017 she traveled to Rwanda to teach women there new knitting techniques.

Before becoming an Indie Knitwear Designer, she was designing garments and accessories for Cold Water Creek and Soft Surrounding. She got her Fashion Designer degree from The Art Institute of Dallas. Alexandra leaves and works in North Texas, together with her husband, two daughters and adorable cocker spaniel. Find her on Ravelry.
