INTRODUCTION

Iyokan

beauty shotby

Piquant

Named after the juicy citrus fruit, Iyokan is a vibrant autumnal pullover you will reach for again and again. The body of this sweater features textured, twisted stitch panels along the sides and a beautiful twisting motif across the center of the front and back. The sleeves are worked in simple reverse stockinette. Fun twisted-stitch details decorate the sleeve cuffs and neck edging.

Iyokan is knit using Wool Pop – a round, smooth, and plump blend of bamboo, wool, and nylon, This DK-weight yarn boasts a subtle sheen with a heathered appearance to the way wool and bamboo take dye differently. It perfectly complements the twisted stitches used in this bright, sunny sweater.

Soak pieces in cool water with a bit of soap, if desired. Remove from water, place on a towel, and roll the towel up to absorb the excess water. Unroll towel and place on a flat surface, patting it into shape. Let dry. Set in sleeves. Weave in ends.

Neck Edging
With smaller 16-inch / 40-cm circ, RS facing, and beg at right shoulder seam, pick up and knit 112[112, 112, 119, 119, 119, 126, 126, 126] sts evenly around neck edge.

Work in Neck patt until piece measures 2.75 inches / 7 cm from picked-up edge, ending after Rnd 2 of patt.

Fold neck out so WS is visible. Using spare circular needle, pick up a loop along neck edge from where neck sts were picked up. Rep along neck edge until there are 112 sts on spare needle. Fold neck in half to inside so both needles are parallel to each other. Using the three-needle bind-off, loosely join sts on working needle to pick-up needle.

Weave in rem ends.
